Volunteering at Our Place

Our Place supports adults with developmental disabilities so that they can lead meaningful, productive, and socially connected lives in their home community. Our volunteers help us fulfill our mission. We have a robust volunteer program and offer a range of opportunities that we believe you will find personally rewarding and that will make the best use of your time and talents. Currently, our volunteers help out in the following areas:

Program Volunteers

Our program volunteers are integral to the success of our daily programs. Teaming up with the Program Leads, the volunteers work directly with our participants both as peers and as mentors. This personal interaction enables the participants to directly experience the skills they need for successful social connections. The volunteers also provide invaluable coaching that focuses on individual participant needs.

Our Place volunteers come from all parts of the community. Many of our volunteers attend some of the area high schools. Others are in local colleges or are recent college graduates. We also have many local community members who share their time with us. We welcome anyone with an interest to contact us. Volunteers must be over the age of 16.

Office Volunteers

Our Place is a small community-based organization and we need experienced volunteers to help with administrative and fundraising activities.

Special Event Volunteers

Want to host an event? We are always looking for civic groups and schools to partner with for special events.

We would love to hear from you!
