Volunteering at Our Place
Our Place is dedicated to serving the needs of young adults with developmental delays to lead meaningful, productive, and socially connected lives. Our volunteers help us fulfill our mission. We have a robust volunteer program and offer a range of opportunities that we believe you will find personally rewarding and that will make the best use of your time and talents. Currently, our volunteers help out in the following areas:
Our program volunteers are integral to the success of our daily programs. Teaming up with the Program Leads, the volunteers work directly with our participants both as peers and as mentors. This one-on-one interaction enables the participants to directly experience the skills they need for successful social connections. The volunteers also provide invaluable coaching that focuses on individual participant needs.
Our Place volunteers come from all parts of the community. Many of our volunteers attend some of the area high schools. Others are in local colleges or are recent college graduates. We also have a strong cadre of local community members that share their time with us. We welcome anyone with an interest to contact us. Because of the one-on-one nature of our programs, we require all volunteers to be over the age of 16.

Our Place is a small community-based organization, and all of our staff are focused on working with our participants. We are always in need of experienced volunteers who can help out in our office with our administrative and fundraising activities.
